It lives in rainforests in South & Central America in the edges of lowland rainforets. The Ara Ambiguus Ambiguss subspecies has a larger range then the other subspecies.
diet
Their diet consists of large almond nuts.
breeding
Great Green Macaws breed in August. They will lay 3 eggs in a hollow in the Cavanillesia Platanifolia tree (near Threantend).

This magnificent Macaw is endangered. Unfortunately only 30% of its original habitat remains. Plus these beautiful Macaws are very popular in the illegal pet trade
